Atlantic tarpon Megalops atlanticusAtlantic tarpon — Florida flats game fish

Palm Beach fishing report for the week of October 15, 2026. The sailfish season is beginning to build off the Palm Beaches, and with the mullet run still going, the inlets are alive with snook and jacks.

What’s Hitting

Sailfish are showing along the reef edge in 100 to 200 feet, with early fish being caught on live baits under kites. Kingfish and bonito are working the reef, mahi are along the weed lines, and yellowtail are on the bottom. Inside, snook are at Lake Worth and Jupiter Inlets, tarpon are still around the bridges, and redfish and trout are working the flats.

Looking ahead, sailfish fishing should build as the first fronts push bait toward the coast, and snook will remain active at the inlets.

Where to Find Them

Fish the reef edge outside of the inlets for sailfish and kingfish, and troll weed lines for mahi. Inside, concentrate on the inlets and the dock lights in Lake Worth Lagoon for snook, and look for redfish on the shallow flats in the Indian River.

Tides & Conditions

With the moon heading toward first quarter, tidal swings are easing. The outgoing tide at the inlets is the best window for snook, and early mornings produce the calmest water offshore. Check a current tide chart and marine forecast.

Tackle & Tactics

Live baits are the key. Pilchards, goggle-eyes and threadfins under kites are the top sail producer, while a live bait or white bucktail jig works for snook. Spinning gear with 20 to 30 pound fluorocarbon fits the inshore game.

Kite fishing takes practice, so get your baits in the right zone and keep them lively. Inshore, a light leader and a stealthy approach pay off.

Local Intel This Week

Public access includes Phil Foster Park on Singer Island, Dubois Park near Jupiter Inlet, and Bryant Park in Lake Worth. Fish are concentrating at the inlets, the reef edge and the lagoon bridges. Check current FWC and federal regulations and seasons before keeping any fish.

This Week’s Tip

Slow down and watch for bait. Sailfish follow the bait schools, so find the pilchards on the sounder and then put your baits near them.
