Offshore, the Gulf Stream is close and the edge is holding mahi and the season’s first real push of sailfish. Inshore, the mullet run is still streaming down the beach, and the Saturday full moon has the inlets ripping.
What’s Hitting
What’s hot offshore is mahi, with gaffers and a few bigger bulls along the weed lines in 200 to 600 feet, plus sailfish showing on the edge in 120 to 250 feet. Kingfish are on the reefs. Inshore, snook are feeding on mullet at Jupiter, Lake Worth, and Boynton inlets, and tarpon are rolling along the beaches and in the Intracoastal at dawn. Jacks and bluefish are working the bait schools on the beach.
Where to Find Them
Offshore, run to the edge off Jupiter Inlet and troll the weed lines and temperature breaks for mahi. For sailfish, slow-troll or kite-fish the edge from Juno Beach to the Palm Beach Inlet. Inshore, the Jupiter Inlet jetties and the Lake Worth Inlet are the top spots for snook on the outgoing tide. The beaches from Juno to Boynton are holding mullet with snook and tarpon behind them.
Tides & Conditions
Big full-moon tides are giving the inlets strong current, and the bite has been best on the outgoing. The Gulf Stream is running close to shore, and water temps are in the low to mid-80s. Mornings have been calm, but the east wind can pick up in the afternoon. Keep an eye on the tropics before running offshore.
Tackle & Tactics
For mahi, troll ballyhoo or small skirted lures along the weed lines, and keep a spinning rod rigged with a jig or a chunk of bait to pitch to schoolies. For sailfish, a live goggle-eye or pilchard on a kite or flat line is the best bet, rigged on a 7/0 circle hook with 40- to 50-pound fluorocarbon. Inshore, a live finger mullet or a swimbait works for snook at the inlets.

Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter and Phil Foster Park near the Lake Worth Inlet are good public ramps. The Jupiter Inlet jetties and the Juno Beach Pier provide excellent shore access. Fish are concentrating on the edge and weed lines offshore and at the inlets inshore on the outgoing tide. Check current FWC regulations, slot sizes, and seasons before keeping fish.
